Morelos wins historic pass in men’s basketball

Morelos achieved a historic pass to the Conade National Games by obtaining the ticket within the 5 x 5 regional basketball macro of the men’s branch within the 2004-2005 category.

The team achieved its classification within its group by reaching its final this Sunday in the eliminatory on the fields of the Oaxtepec “Adolfo López Mateos” Vacation Center of the IMSS, with the attendance of states and delegations that make up the macro region C.

In the previous games, those from the Zapatista land prevailed over the IMSS and National Polytechnic teams.

Recognizing that Morelos had not participated in the Conade National Games, Morelos coach Ernesto Velázquez announced that the initial draw favored them to achieve the necessary results to make history in men’s basketball.

“We faced two teams that we could beat, in addition to CDMX, which was the strong team; In this last game we lacked a little more experience with the boys, but they did well, they played you for you and we have a team to prepare for the national stage which is in Sinaloa”.

The unpublished ticket it was achieved with the talent of the players Eduardo Reyna, Nicolás Altamirano, Jared Velázquez, Santiago Hernández, Edier Flores, Adán Guadarrama, Gerardo Calderón, Ernesto Pérez, Jafet Mizraim, and Carlos Mosqueda; all of them directed by Ernesto Velázquez and Juan Flores.

“We are happy because it is historic to go to a national stage in men’s basketball, many years have passed without achieving it; in girls about six years ago it had already touched us, but not with boys”.

At the beginning of the road, the Morelenses defeated IMSS in their first two matches on day 1 by 35 points to 25, and in the second the student team of the National Polytechnic by a score of 40 to 20.
