Local teams do not fail. This is how Day 1 of the LEB Oro Playoffs went

The LEB Oro Playoffs started and in the first game of the quarterfinals the local teams asserted home court advantage to get ahead in the respective qualifiers. Basketball Girona, Palencia, Lleida and Students did their homework.

This was Day 1:

Basketball Girona 74-66 Leyma Basketball Coruna

The Catalan team was ahead on the scoreboard for practically the entire game, without breaking away, against a Coruña who were penalized for losses (14) and little success from outside (5/18 in triples). Jawara, with 16 points, was the match’s top scorer. Marc Gasol added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Zunder Palencia 76-71 Unicaja Banca Oviedo

Beautiful duel in Palencia that Juan Rubio opted for the locals with a great ending. The Murcian was decisive with a three-pointer with 57 seconds remaining that made it 73-71. Rubio would finish the game with 16 points and 4 triples.

ICG Força Lleida 87-79 Cáceres World Heritage Site

A great last quarter (26-18) allowed the team from Lleida to keep the victory. Up to six players finished with 10+ points, highlighting Hughes, with 14 points and 7 rebounds (21 PIR). Juani Marcos added another 14, including 3 triples.

Movistar Students 64-60 UEMC Real Valladolid Basketball

Exciting match at the WiZink, decided by details in the last possessions. The schoolboys knew how to maintain their lead, with a stellar Johnny Dee, author of 22 points. Gilbert and De la Fuente, who combined for a total of 34 points, rowed to the end, but without a prize.
