The athletes thanked the first authority of the department, committing to continue training, defending the colors of Beni, in national championships.
The governor of Beni, Dr. Alejandro Unzueta Shiriqui, on Monday presented awards to the champion U-16 basketball team, ladies, who rose to the elite level and to Kick Boxing athletes, who made an excellent representation in Santa Cruz.
Orlando Sueldo, director of the Departmental Sports Service (SEDEDE), congratulated the basketball athletes who respected the venue and the Riberalta athletes who stood out in Kick Boxing.
“We feel satisfied, first of all, for the constant support that our Governor, Dr. Alejandro Unzueta, has been providing to the different disciplines,” he explained.
He thanked the associations for allowing the national championships to be held in Beni. He clarified that as SEDEDE, they provide lodging in the housing field, food, provision of sports clothing and logistics.
Jesús Alberto Castedo, coach of the Beni team, thanked God for having given the basketball players the confidence and strength to win the title and lead Beni to an elite championship, which will take place in the coming years.
Gustavo Cabrera, Kick Boxing athlete from Riberalta, who represented Beni along with other young people, highlighted the support of the Governor of Beni. He affirmed that they bring the runner-up of the national tournament in Santa Cruz.
The governor of Beni, Dr. Alejandro Unzueta Shiriqui, said that he is proud that the team has emerged as national champion, facing the La Paz team in the final.
“We always say that we must spend energy on something new and what is new is you. Congratulations, now you have the full support of the Government. Congratulate the Riberalta athletes for having made a worthy representation, ”she concluded.
