Giannis fulfilled his star credentials with the Bucks qualification to the conference finals

The Milwaukee bucks made their way to the conference finals of the NBA after a close Game 7 in which they eliminated the Brooklyn Nets. The great figure of the meeting was Giannis Antetokounmpo, who in a show of hierarchy led his team against an inspired Kevin Durant.

Despite the remarkable defensive pressure put in by the Nets, especially in the face of Giannis’ forays into the paint, the 26-year-old was unstoppable and ended up scoring 15 of his 24 attempts at the basket, which equates to 62% of effectiveness in field shots.

However, it was not just what he contributed in the final game of the series, but the Greek was fundamental throughout the seven games, averaging 31.9 points, 12.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 40 minutes per game.

Especially after game 2 of the series, Giannis took a step forward to push the Bucks in seeking to cut this deficit and come back, posting excellent numbers from the individual, but more important was his role as leader.

Perhaps his only low note was the poor efficiency he registered when taking free throws, since he concluded the series with 29 hits in 60 attempts from the line, that is to say a mediocre 48.3%. This contrasts with what was done in the first round against the Heat, registering 64% in all four games.

The 2021 postseason has the flavor of revenge for Giannis, who despite shining in the regular season for the past few years, had not been able to translate this great level into the NBA playoffs.

At the moment, the Milwaukee Bucks are waiting for what will happen in the seventh game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks, to define their rival for the next round.
