FEDERAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE: BELGRANO SURPASSED SOMISA AND RISE TO THE TOP OF THE TABLE

As a visitor, at the start of the twelfth date, the Red team won 76-69 and, at least until the Regatas are presented today, will be the sole leader of the CAB Region Division 1. The Maffei team finished a partial 16-0 in the second quarter and in the third he managed to obtain a difference of eighteen. Somisa woke up and was four down with two minutes remaining, but the reaction did not reach her.

Belgrano achieved his third win as a visitor.

At the beginning of the twelfth date of the CAB Region Division 1 of the Federal Basketball League, last night Belgrano defeated Somisa as a visitor and temporarily became the only leader. It will be at least until Regatas is presented today, and if it doesn’t win it will share the leadership with its classic rival (Náutico has already been released). El Rojo won 76 to 69, asserting a notable 16-0 run that he nailed in six minutes of the second quarter (it was placed 39 to 26), which allowed him to unlock an even and technically discreet match, in which, even the local had been doing things better. His pillars were that outstanding section of the night Núñez and Maffei.

At the beginning of the third period, Belgrano reached a difference of eighteen (maximum, 47-29), but Somisa reacted with Cruz’s hand and stayed alive, despite having entered the last break losing by twelve. Arámburu’s team went in search of the feat and showed an interesting reaction, when, with the contributions of Cruz, Rausch and Zandomeni, they were four down with 2 minutes to go (68-72). Already Belgrano at that point was sustained in front by the vital appearances of Maffei and the good contribution of Vercelli (again important, like the other youth, Alimena). The shots that he needed to go in to go for more at the venue did not go in and Belgrano ended up securing the victory with singles from Vercelli and Maffei. The latter was precisely one of the figures from Belgrano, with 16 points (6-13 from the field and 2-2 from free), 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals; and one of his scorers, along with Lagger, who also totaled 16 points (with 3-6 in doubles, 2-7 in triples and 4-4 in free kicks, plus 7 rebounds and 4 assists).

In turn, in Belgrano (who won in five of his recent six commitments) the intern Lucas Nuñez returned to fulfill another valuable performance with 15 points (4-4 in doubles, 2-3 in triples and 1-1-2 in free ) and 9 rebounds. Somisa fell short of Rausch’s 22 points and Cruz’s 19 (the two combined 15-30 shooting from the field and 7-11 free throws) and he suffered his seventh knockdown in his last eight appearances.
