LOS ANGELES — On the last day before the All-Star, Joel Embiid beat Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic dazzled with 49 points against the New Orleans Pelicans and the Miami Heat had to play two overtime to knock out the Charlotte Hornets.
The NBA now heads to Cleveland, USA, where All-Star weekend will take place from Friday to Sunday, with the regular season resuming next Thursday, February 24.

Tearful night in Charlotte. The Hornets blew a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter, missing a decisive free throw by Montrezl Harrell in the first overtime and they ended up falling in the second overtime against Miami Heat.
Miles Bridges (29 points and 11 rebounds) was the highlight of a depressed Hornets that have lost nine of their last ten games.
On the Heat, which is tied for the East lead with the Chicago Bulls, Kyle Lowry was essential with 12 points in the two extensions for a total of 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
