EBA: Individual winter balance

Taking advantage of the Christmas break of the EBA League and after the team balanceWe now make an approximation to what this first section of the competition has given of itself, but from the individual level. Although the one who writes these lines has seen a few EBA matches, the immensity of groups and teams is an ocean where it is difficult to be fair and there is no other choice but to rely on the numbers, often incomplete, and feelings to be able to talk about two players per group: one outstanding and the best U22. To complete our article, the FEB has recently published its selection of highlights.

I want to emphasize that this selection is made from personal evaluations, since each person has their own criteria, all deserving of respect, which will lead them to choose other players.

Group AA

Javi Lacunza – Gonzalo Corbalán

The strength of the collective that drives the leaders Santurtzi and Baskonia is not reflected on the individual level, where there are two players who have stood out a lot, Kaj-Björn Sherman (Restaurante Los Arcos CB Solares), for being a mountain in the paint, and Óscar Cabrera (Cantbasket04), for his 1 × 1 game and his ease of scoring points. However, both convalescing and hoping for a speedy recovery, we give the award to Javi Lacunza (CB Valle de Egüés), whose mobility, aim and rebound ability make him stand out.

It took him a while to get the transfer, but when he did, Gonzalo Corbalán (Nissan Grupo de Santiago) was an explosion of fresh air: his intensity and his offensive instinct made the EBA too small for him.

Group AB

Sergio Martínez – Sergi Huguet

With USAL La Antigua CB Tormes being a pylon with several references, in Leclerc Caja Rural Reino de León they enjoy Sergio Martínez. The Leonese enjoy his maturity at home; his quality and size make him unstoppable in this league, where his teammate, the Croatian Balaško, has also stood out, who has left a very good feeling but has left for LEB Plata. They are not alone and the teams from the middle zone also have prominent names such as Dani Stefanuto and Dramell Hogan (Mundioma Marín Ence Peixegalego), Fernando Fernández Noval (Corinto Gijón) and Ezequiel Herrera (Hereda Ávila Authentic El Bulevar).

Sergi Huguet, with minutes in ACB with the first team, has already made it clear that when he plays with Obradoiro Silleda he is a dominant player in EBA and that he does what he wants, with the Ivorian international Lionel kouadio (Solgaleo Bosco Salesianos) trying to reach his wake.

B Group

Álvaro Biersack – Baba Miller

Without a doubt, Álvaro Biersack’s mobile and fundamental game plays havoc with the paint, where he scores points and rebounds with ease despite his size, and is one of the keys to the good performance of Basketball Alcalá. Chema Gil, arrived from LEB Oro, has promoted CB Pozuelo, without forgetting prominent names such as Jorge Tejera (NCS Alcobendas) or Imobach González (CB La Matanza).

The good progress of Real Madrid B, in which Baba Miller shines with his own light, makes him win the award on these dates. Several players follow him closely, from their teammates Urban Klavžar Y Henri Veesaar, to the backcourt of Alcalá (MendezUnanue) or the shortlist of the Fuenlabrada subsidiary (FernandezMačohaBagayoko).

Group C1

Marcus Vinícius Toledo – Lucas Langarita

He came from LEB Oro to a CB Valls Optiques Teixidó that already tried to take over his services last season, and the Spanish-Brazilian Marcus Vinícius Toledo has not failed. His know-how, his strength and his quality make him essential and differential in this category. Other prominent players are the Mañes brothers (Eric and Marc) at BBA Castelldefels and the American Orion Outerbridge (Ibersol CB Tarragona).

Embou El Olivar is the leader and Lucas Langarita has a lot to blame, offensive instinct in abundance, he is the plunger of the handy team that has other props such as Gustav Knudsen Y Aday mara.

Group C2

Chemari Morales – Iker Montero

He recently arrived at AEA Solidaria Llucmajor, but he did not need an adaptation period: Chemari Morales does not fail, he dominates the paint, he is unstoppable at the post and a lynx for rebounds, being a player who does not notice the passage of time. With a leading Torrons Vicens CB L’Hospitalet with Albert Homs and Markus Latham standing out, Charles Knowles is, with José Malo, the engine of Prosperplast Alfindén; Albert Valle also continues to teach in Martorell.

Iker Montero unleashes his skills as a gamer, speed of launch and impudence with the Joventut Badalona subsidiary, well supported by Jordi Rodriguez and Conrad Martínez.

Group C3

Jordi Juanola – Fallou Niang

Season after season, Juanola continues to stand out, a regular of 3 × 3 who continues to exhibit in UE Mataró Germans Homs that game from the position of ‘three’ with his penetrations or his throws. The combo guard Xavi Torrent (Sol Gironès Bisbal Bàsquet), a scorer like few others.

CB Navàs Viscola’s cyclone, Fallou Niang, was one of EBA’s pleasant surprises: physical play, post work, shooting range and intensity. In addition, he has been the only one who has managed to take away some of the prominence of the talents of the Barça subsidiary, undefeated leaders, with Agustín Ubal and Michael Caicedo to the head.

DA group

Evan Pellerin – Álvaro Folgueiras

With an excellent article on his website, our colleague @thegroupDligaEBA shelled the best of the DA. With his wide following, we cannot contradict him: the strength of Evan Pellerin (Benahavís Costa del Sol) prevails in a group with several outstanding players, such as Javier Santabarbara (unstoppable and basic pillar in Jaen Paraíso Interior CB), the game of the self- I by Didi García (which makes a difference with Tu Súper La Zubia), the quality of the painting by Javier González (Melilla Sport Capital Enrique Soler B) and the explosion at the end of David Espadiña (Oh! Tels ULB), among others.

Huge season for the guys from Unicaja Andalucía. Among them, Álvaro Folgueiras, who takes the award by playing inside. A lot of future behind him, like his partner Javi Luque or the good season of the Swede Olle Stümer (Enrique Soler B).

DB group

Dejan Ilinčić – Andreas Tsoumanis

Tremendous professional debut for the Serbian Dejan Ilinčić (Baublock Gymnástica), a monster of double-doubles: with a lot of height and wingspan, although without being excessively strong, his height, mobility and springs make him achieve these figures. Also noteworthy are the Dominican scorer Erickson Sánchez (Ilinčić’s partner), the game of all-around from Fede Ristori (Huelva Comercio), the total game from the position of ‘one’ of the ex-Oro Fran Cárdenas (in the leader Ciudad de Huelva) and a Javi Valeiras (City of Academy Badajoz) who has exploited this course at last.

Andreas Tsoumanis, who had already excelled with Greece in the lower categories, has excelled in a superlative way on the EBA tracks with Sagrado Corazón Lithium Iberia. Behind him, his triplet partner Mario linde and the youth of Real Betis Baloncesto B, led by the junior Demba Sheriff.

Group EA

Godwin Osarenren – Ivan Aleksandrov

Godwin Osarenren is another regular on the 3 × 3 circuits and in his second year at Refitel Bàsquet Llíria he has improved his physique a lot, a fact that has caused him to be unstoppable on the inside, effective near the rim, a back fence and insurance on the rebounds, all coupled with his passing ability. Other players who are having a great season are Miguel Moragas (EB Vila-Real), Lucas Blasco (CB Tabernes Blanques Fernando Gil) and scorer Ximo Ródenas (Llíria).

After training in the Valencia quarry, Ivan Aleksandrov (Bauhaus Godella) has not noticed the move to senior, showing a very daring game and without fear of taking the ball. The interiors Alfonso Ribera (Inalco Alcora Caixa Rural) and Mark Hetor Mensah (NB Torent) are also setting a good course.

Group EB

Carlos Cerdán – Sergio Romero

Carlos Cerdán, the scorer par excellence, does not miss his appointment. Easy to wrist, it does not fail and acts as a leader for NB Paterna Power Electronics. Other notable players are Alejandro Vera (force in the painting of Angels Vision UPB Gandia) and Carlos Hortelano (good job for Alpel Aldaia).

Sergio Romero unleashes his wrist at Eurofins Megalab Alginet, being a regular in the section of the best U22s every Thursday, where he is usually accompanied by his teammate Iván Lerin, the quality of Fran Marco (Picken Claret) and the dark work duo that They form Unai Zamora and Álex Terrades (Gandia).

EC Group

José Antonio Fernández – Martín Fernández

Lepero José Antonio Fernández (Organic Ager CB Begastri) is another of those players who has made a pact with the devil; The years go by and he continues to stand out, scoring with his hook, bouncing that impossible ball and, perhaps without his physical splendor of yesteryear, he makes up for it with his experience and knowing how to be. But beware that there is more: the undefeated Hozono Global Jairis has a top-level hat trick (Méndez-Sankey-Mukendi), Arturo Fernández is vital in La Salud Archena and keep an eye on the game over the rim of Omar Lo in the UCAM Murcia subsidiary CB.

The Galician Martín Fernández (La Nucía Lucentum Alicante) started as a shot with several exhibitions; a very vertical player who has gone to more in his outside shot and who cries out for an opportunity higher. In addition, the young people of UCAM continue their progression highlighting (Yiğit Mestoğlu, Noah Sørensen and Pau Shopkeeper), as does Paco Garrido in Sercomosa Molina Basket.

We would love to say thanks to the writer of this write-up for this amazing material
