Chris Duarte makes Summer League debut with Pacers

The Dominican finished with 14 points and 2 steals in his debut game with the Indiana Pacers.

Chris Duarte started his way in the NBA with the right foot with 14 points in the defeat of the Indiana Pacers before the New York Knicks in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Duarte also added 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks, shooting 4-8 from the field, including 3-7 from the three-point line. The Pacers were scheduled to debut on Sunday, but some situations in the rival team, Washington Wizards, forced the cancellation of the meeting due to the safety and health policies of the NBA.

The Dominican left several plays for the highlights including steals, blocks and a basket when the clock expired before the end of the first half.

Indiana went into halftime with a 44-41 advantage over the New York Knicks who had a masterful performance by Immanuel quickley who finished the match as the best scorer of the match with 32 points, leading the New York team to an excellent second half that gave them victory.

For the Pacers, the best scorer was Duane Washington Jr. coming off the bench with 23 points in 21 minutes of action, followed by Canadian Oshae Brissett who was not drafted but does power for the Pacers in the Summer League.

Duarte wore jersey number 3 as previously confirmed by the team when announcing the rosters for the Las Vegas Summer League.

The native of Puerto Plata was in the starting five and left very good feelings in 27 minutes of action, despite having lost four balls and 3 personal fouls.
