Chris Duarte leads Pacers to second Summer League win

The Dominican scored 19 points making 3 of 4 long distance attempts to guide Indiana over the Oklahoma City Thunder

Chris Duarte was the highest score of the game in which the Indiana Pacers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 95-61, marking the team’s second victory in the Las Vegas Summer League.

The native of Puerto Plata also contributed 4 defensive rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. It was also a good day for the Dominican shooting from the field scoring 7 of 15 attempts, including 3 of 4 from the three-point line.

For the second consecutive game, the Dominican was the best scorer of the game, coming from scoring 19 against the Portland Trailblazers, a victory in which the Pacers also won by at least 30 points, 97-64.

Indiana overcame a difficult first quarter where they could only score 15 points, with only one difference against OKC, but from then on the Dominican stood out with his good defense and decision-making ability, despite playing more as a guard unlike previous encounters where he acted as point guard.

Keifer Sykes added 14 points and Isaiah Jackson added 12 to help the cause of Indiana, who return to the court on Monday to face the Washington Wizards.
