Basket Zaragoza and El Olivar extend their relationship

The Basket Zaragoza club and the Miralbueno El Olivar Stadium have reached an agreement to sign the extension of the collaboration agreement between both entities by which, from the next course, and as the main novelty, the name of Anagán El Olivar is included for the women’s subsidiary team of Basket Zaragoza, which will compete in Women’s League 2.

The signing of the agreement took place yesterday, at the facilities of El Olivar, with the highest representatives of the institutions: Fernando Ramiro, patron of the Basket Zaragoza Foundation and José Luis Josa, president of El Olivar, were in charge of signing the new contract of collaboration, which will allow Basket Zaragoza to maintain its two subsidiary teams competing in national categories –the EBA League and the Women’s League 2–, in addition to the continuity of various projects (schools and campuses) to promote basketball among children and young people.

Ramiro explained, once the agreement was signed, that the extension of this agreement “represents a big step” for the Basket Zaragoza Foundation, and that reaffirms the club’s intentions to “continue growing from the base”. “The commitment to women’s basketball is resounding at the moment. We continue to maintain our academy teams and now, once again, we will compete in the Women’s League 2, that step that the players need before moving on to professional basketball,” said the patron of the Basket Zaragoza Foundation.

On behalf of the Miralbueno El Olivar Stadium, its president, José Luis Josa, underlined “the ease of formalizing” this type of agreement. “In our club, women’s sport has been promoted from the first day,” said Josawho also recalled that the agreement signed yesterday “provides continuity to the great relationship that exists with Basket”, an entity that hopes to “continue working for many years.”
