Leyma Básquet Coruña faces Melilla on Sunday, December 12, a match during which an exhibition of sprinters will take place thanks to the collaboration of the Concello da Coruña, the Coruña basketball team and the A Coruña Athletics Club. This was indicated by the Councilor for Sports, Mónica Martínez, the vice president of Básquet Coruña, Juan Carlos Fernández, and the president of the Coruña Comarca Athletics Club, José Carlos Tuñas, on Friday during the presentation of the initiative.
“We are sure it will be a show that Básquet Coruña fans will enjoy how connected they are with their team and of course for all athletics lovers. We believe that it is a perfect way to connect the sport taking advantage of the versatility of the facilities “, indicated the mayor of Sports.
This exhibition will feature the participation of Óscar Husillos, absolute international, European champion of 400 meters in indoor track and Olympic in Tokyo 2020. This athlete has different national records and is a reference in Spanish athletics. The Galician Mauro triana, a grant from the city council, with numerous records and 14 times regional champion and seven times medalist in national tournaments, will also be present at the Riazor Sports Palace, as well as Álvaro de las Heras and Elian Numa López.
The city council invites the students of the city’s schools to attend with the aim that the little ones live the experience and indicates that there are already more than 500 registered students. “From the city council we will always be supporting this type of initiatives that join forces and make the values of sport even stronger.
