Yankees: Giancarlo Stanton responds on whether he’s ‘envious’ of Aaron Judge

When did you get to the New York Yankees in 2018, Giancarlo Stanton arrived with a huge sign for having been National League MVP the previous year and the expectations were enormous when partnering with Aaron Judge, who at the time was coming off his impressive rookie campaign, earning him the nickname ‘Baby Bombers.’ However, injuries have prevented that both Stanton and Judge Unleash your full power consistently until this 2022.

In this campaign, both are having their best numbers since they were together in the Bronx, and although Stanton is a great star in his own right, all the spotlights are on Aaron Judge for his MVP campaign and above all, being his last year before entering free agency, leaving Giancarlo a bit in the shadow of his partner.

However, for Stanton this is not a matter of egos and he responded to The New York Post when asked “if he is envious” of the attention Judge receives.

You have to let the great players be great. What is the point of having animosity between the two? He’s on my team and this is no popularity contest. We are here to win.

Between Judge and Stanton they have connected 57 home runs together at the All-Star break, 24 from Giancarlo and 33 from Judge, being the tandem of batters that has connected the most home runs so far this season.

I started as a rookie at Al Bat in early 2018 and am in my third season covering Major League Baseball as a web reporter. I’m a fan of the San Francisco Giants, number one defender of Barry Bonds, and hater of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Ronald Acuña are the future of baseball, Mike Trout is overrated, and the Astros deserved to have the World Series taken from them for their cheating. Besides baseball, I also enjoy football, flag football, basketball, and just about any other game that involves a ball or ball. I’m also an amateur musician, a penniless gamer and very nerdy. Graduated in journalism from the University of Guadalajara, I graduated in 2017. Born in the world capital of shrimp, Escuinapa, Sinaloa. I lived for a while in Australia; I survived giant spiders, tasmanian devils and fought a kangaroo and didn’t die trying.
