World Classic: Christian Yelich would play WBC 2023 but not with the United States

The World Baseball Classic It is getting closer and as the days progress, the names of players who would participate in it are being announced. Such is the case of Christian Yelichwho would intend to go to the WBC from 2023. The surprise is that the Milwaukee Brewers outfielder in MLB wouldn’t do it with the United States.

Shawn Spradling, a specialist in World Baseball Classic issues, announced that Christian Yelich would participate in next year’s WBC but representing Japan and not the United States.

According to the report, the Milwaukee Brewers outfielder in the MLB has Japanese ancestry, since his grandfather is a native of this nation and this would lead him to have the right to be part of the roster.

Yelich already has experience in the World Baseball Classic. He played the 2017 edition with what is known as the ‘country of stars and stripes’, and there they were crowned champions by defeating Puerto Rico in the Final.

Christian Yelich remains one of the Brewers’ standout players. This despite the fact that he did not keep up the pace that led him to be named MVP Most Valuable Player in the 2018 MLB Season.

I joined ‘Al Bat’ in September 2020, beginning a new work stage in which I always seek to give my best version, in addition to leaving a significant mark on the passage of women in an industry that is mainly managed by men. Bachelor of Communication Sciences and Techniques from the Inter-American University for Development (UNID), I am a specialist in sports journalism, writing and editing texts, I have three years of experience covering sports, especially baseball in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB). ), Mexican Pacific League (LMP) and MLB. I was an intern at the LMB Leones de Yucatán Baseball Club, with whom I attended the 2019 Serie del Rey. I have done work for social networks such as coverage of the 2019-2020 edition of the LMP Final for ‘Con Las Bases Llenas’. I am constantly updated on social networks, SEO, Google positioning, writing, digital journalism, as well as the place of women in the sports industry. Originally from Mérida, Yucatán, my first approach to baseball was at a Leones de Yucatán game, in the ‘Kukulcán Álamo’ Park, in 2015; and that changed my life completely. The ‘Melenudos’ are the team I love and the greatest passion I have in this sport. Although I dedicate myself to baseball most of the time, my sport, at the beginning, was (and still is) soccer. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich won my heart and fans from ‘minute one’ and I am fortunate to have already seen them play live. Clearly, I am a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer.
