One of the best-known families in Cuban baseball is that formed by Lourdes Gurriel, both he and his three children have dedicated their lives to baseball in both the National Series and two of them in the Major Leagues.
On March 25, the family celebrated the 65th birthday of “The Man of the Great Moments.” Despite the start of Spring Training, they did not let the opportunity pass, although the Blue Jays outfielder and youngest son, Lourdes Jr., could not attend due to his commitments with the franchise.
Yuniesky Gurriel shared a photo of the party through his social networks accompanied by his little daughter, parents and Yuli. He also dedicated a few words to his father, which generated hundreds of reactions and congratulatory comments from his followers and well-known baseball players.
“Happy birthday to the best father in the world. My old man may God let us enjoy you for a long time. God bless you.” was the message dedicated by yuniesky to Lourdes on her birthday.

The eldest of the Gurriel brothers has been a batting coach for several years, and with his training center he has contributed to the training of outstanding Cuban baseball players such as Yasiel Puig, Yasmany Tomás, Víctor Víctor Mesa, Patrick Meriño, Omar Estévez and Orlando Martinez, in addition to Yuli and Yunito Gurriel.
