The Chicago Cubs got rid of several of their biggest stars during this season and that they were champions of the World Series in 2016, like the much-mentioned Anthony Rizzo, Javier Báez and Kris Bryant. But another who came out later, but not for change but for low level is Jake Arrieta, who was released by the Cubs very recently and recently, signed from free agency by the San Diego Padres.
Just this Tuesday, Jake Arrieta made his debut with the Padres against the Colorado Rockies, where he did not do well at all, leaving a very bad image in his new team: He pitched just 3 1/3 innings, allowing 5 earned runs and also to make matters worse, it seems that he was injured in the match.
With this terrible start, Arrieta continued with his terrible streak being perhaps the worst starter of this Major League season, since in his last 10 starts he has an ERA of 9.94, having a total ERA this season in an infumable 7.13, which it certainly shows its downward trend.
The Padres do not yet know the extent of Arrieta’s possible injury, which would join those of Chris Paddack, Yu Darvish, Matt Strahm, among others.
