The winners of the Silver Bat will be announced during a one-hour broadcast on MLB Network on November 11 at 6 p.m. This will be the 13th consecutive year that the MLB Network will make the exclusive announcement of the Silver Bat, which was delivered by first time in 1980.

The Silver Bat awards are decided by a vote of managers and coaches who select the players who in their opinion were the best offensive producers at each position in the National League and the American League. Each team can cast four votes: that of the manager and those of three coaches of their choice. The votes are based on a combination of offensive statistics such as OPS, OPS +, home runs, RBIs, batting average, bases reached and runs scored, as well as the general impressions of the managers and coaches on the offensive contribution of the players.
