Seven Latinos are starters for the All-Star Game

Besides of first base of the Toronto Blue Jays, the third baseman of the young circuit team will be in charge of Rafael Devers, also Dominican, of the Red Sox of Boston; while the left field will be in charge of Teoscar Hernández.

All of them are starters for an All-Star Game for the first time in their career, while Venezuelan catcher Salvador Pérez is behind home plate for the sixth time in a luminaries classic.

The shortstop of the Boston Red Sox, Xander Bogaerts of Aruba completes the quintet of Latinos who, with the support of the public, achieved the starting position for July 13 in Colorado.

In the National League, Fernado Tatis Jr. became just the first San Diego Padres player to be selected for an All-Star Game since 1999.

The legion of Latin stars that will make headlines is closed by the Venezuelan Ronald Acuña Jr, the Atlanta Braves outfielder who for the second time receives the support of the public after what was demonstrated in the first half: .280 average, 22 homers and 48 towed.

The Major League Baseball All-Star Game returns this year after the cancellation of last year’s game at Dodger Stadium due to the coronavirus pandemic, which caused the season to be postponed and started until the end of July. This year’s game was moved from Atlanta to Denver by the MLB in response to election law changes implemented by Georgia. Critics condemned these changes as too restrictive.

Pitchers and reserves will be announced Sunday afternoon.
