Sandoval gives victory to Navegantes in the LVBP

Major League Baseball player Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run RBI double within a four-run attack in the bottom of the sixth inning, and the Navegantes del Magallanes beat the Tigres de Aragua 7-4.

With this, the Navigators chain seven consecutive wins to extend their advantage as leaders of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League.

Carlos Pérez hit a two-run homer, while Alberth Martínez and Gabriel Noriega added solo homers to round out the Navigators’ offense.

Robert Zarate (4-0) allowed one run in his two-round relief and won the match. It was lost by Logan Duran (0-5), who is still in the middle of a terrible season and now allowed three touchdowns and three hits without taking out outs in his relief.

In Maracaibo, the La Guaira Sharks beat the Águilas del Zulia 12-2. Kelvin Melean was 4-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, Junior Sosa also went 5-2 with a double and two RBIs, while Juan Fernández had two hits with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Ryan Flores (2-1) won with six brilliant blank innings allowing just two hits, and Cesar Jiménez lost (1-3) after allowing three runs and three hits in four 2/3 innings.

In Caracas, the Margarita Braves defeated the Caracas Leones 10-4. Breyvic Valera went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, Reinaldo Ilarraza went 4-2 with two RBIs, while Diego Rincones and Ramón Flores hit solo home runs.

At La Guaira, Balbino Fuenmayor answered a sacrifice fly to break a draw at the top of the ninth inning, and the Anzoátegui Caribes escaped with a 3-2 road win over the Lara Cardenales.

The Navigators lead the circuit with a 15-7 record, followed by Braves (14-10), Cardinals (12-11), Lions (12-11), Sharks (11-12), Tigers (10-13), Caribs (9-13) and Águilas (9-15).
