San Diego Padres eliminate Los Angeles Dodgers and advance to NLCS

The San Diegos Fathers have advanced to the National League Championship Series after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 in Game 4 of the NLDS held at Petco Park. With the victory, those from San Diego They will face the Philadelphia Phillies for the pennant of the Old Circuit.

After the 111 regular season wins, Dodgers’ elimination qualifies as one of the biggest flops of the 2022 MLB season. Here are the keys to the ‘Friars’ victory in Game 4 of the NL Division Series Championship Series.

Angeleno Home

The Dodgers waited until the third inning to put points on the board. After a lineout by Gavin Lux, Joe Musgrove ate two runs because of the walk he gave Mookie Betts and doubles by Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman. Despite this, Musgrove did a good job striking out eight of the 27 Dodgers batters he faced., allowing six hits, three walks in six innings. Those numbers allowed him to leave the game with an ERA of 1.38.

lucky seven

The seventh inning was the best inning for the Padres because they scored five runs, even though the Dodgers closed out their at-bat with a three-to-zero lead thanks to Will Smith’s sacrifice fly for Betts to score. The roll began and ended with Jurickson Profar. Profar was walked and followed by a single by Trent Grisham that allowed the outfielder to reach third.

Subsequently, Austin Nola drove in the first run for the Padres with a groundout to second that prompted Yency Almonte to take over for Tommy Kahnle. However, the change on the mound did not work out for Dave Roberts since Ha-Seong Kim led Grisham with a brace and Juan Soto tied the game with a drive to right field that Nola scored with.

Almonte did a good job striking out Manny Machado and eliminating Brandon Drury, but Roberts pulled him out to pitch Alex Vesia. The manager of the Dodgers could do little when Jake Cronenworth hit a single with which Soto and Kim scored to make the score 5-3. The seventh ended with a walk to Wil Myers and a Vesia strikeout with Profar as the victim.

Suarez relay

The Padres have won both of the NLDS games Suarez has pitched in. (Games 2 and 3) at least one inning as a reliever and today they did it again. The Venezuelan pitcher pitched during the eighth roll and came out on top thanks to a pop out by Trayce Thompson, a fly out by Cody Bellinger and a strikeout to Gavin Lux.

Hader’s Closure

Ultimately, closer Josh Hader secured the Padres’ win by strike out Mookie Betts, Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman, the first three in the order of the Dodgers. The San Diego pitcher earned his third save of the postseason.
