Parents sign Klay Thompson’s brother

The San Diego Padres signed outfielder Trayce, younger brother of Klay Thompson, for the 2022 MLB Spring Training.

The gardener Trayce Thompson returns to look for another opportunity in the professional baseball of the Big leaguesthis time with the San Diego Padres facing the MLB 2022.

Thompson signed a minor league contract with an invitation to the Spring Training, in case he makes the team if he stays on the roster for opening day. However, if he doesn’t make it, he has the option of going to the minor leagues or asking for his release.

Trayce Thompson 31 years old, 6’5 tall and 225 pounds, he was drafted in 2009 by the Chicago White Sox. In 2015 he played about 44 games in the Majors with said team, accumulating an OPS of 896, 295 AVG, 36 hits, 8 doubles, 3 triples, 5 HR, 16 RBI and 13 walks.

He was then traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers along with Micah Johnson and Frankie Montas to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Todd Frazier heading to the White Sox while Jose Peraza, Brandon Dixon and Scott Schelber headed to the Cincinnati Reds in the MLB.

His time with the Dodgers was not good, he couldn’t find himself in the batter’s box and that cost him to be designated for assignment in March 2018. That’s when the New York Yankees signed him, but two days he was designated again and acquired by the Oakland Athletics.

His time at Atleticos was also super short, only 12 days. He then returned to where it all began, the Chicago White Sox, where the offense was once again that missing factor that got him fired.

The Cleveland Indians also gave Thompson a chance but released him again, as did the Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks in 2020 and 2021.

Now the San Diego Padres they are giving him another chance to play steadily in the MLB, as long as you earn it.
