the stellar Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts, has been disabled on the disabled list since June 19, after suffering a fracture in his right rib. The good news is that Mookie has already resumed activities on the pitch and according to a report by Jon Morosi from MLB Network, everything seems to indicate that would return to his team’s lineup before the All-Star Game.
The columnist also disclosed that according to his sources in the Los Angeles team, the 29-year-old patrolman, twice a World Series champion with the Red Sox and Dodgers, would not play his first games as a right fielder, but the manager Dave Roberts would assign him an infield position.
According to Morosi, in a link with television host Lauren Shehadi, also from MLB Network, Betts will play his first games as a second baseman and not in his usual position on the field. The reason, the team wants to take him little by little until his body is 100 percent to make long-range throws from the outfield.
It should be remembered that the Nashville, Tennessee native’s injury occurred during a collision he had with his teammate, center fielder Cody Bellinger.
