MLB: Yasiel Puig close to signing with Korea team

In what has been the same birthday of the Cuban gardener Yasiel puig, a possible whereabouts towards his next destination as a professional player has been revealed, sporting the league KBO in Korea as your next home.

According to sports writer and reporter Francys Romero, a number of four KBO teams have shown interest in the player, including one organization close to a serious contract deal.

Romero quotes on his official Twitter account that the interested teams are the Kiwoom Heroes, Hanwha Eagles, Kia Tigers and LG Twins.

After seven uninterrupted seasons as a player in MLB, Yasiel Puig has not played in the Big Top since 2019, remaining since then in Independent Leagues from Mexico to the Dominican Republic.

In the current 2021-22 campaign of Lidom, the Cuban is next to the Toros del Este, the same ones with which he had operated in 2020-21.

The outfielder had a lush campaign in the LMB in 2021, which earned him the award as “defensive player of the year” on the Mexican circuit.

The 31-year-old could well have a great opportunity to return to the MLB from the KBO, from where we saw Nick Martínez win a contract in 2022 and, in 2021, there were offers on Mel Rojas Jr. (he chose Japan) or the signature Ha-Seong Kim.

Something that has been criticized about Yasiel Puig has been his excessively aggressive attitude, which the player has accepted and has begun to deal with. He was diagnosed with Hyperactive Attention Deficit, against which he takes medication and therapies.
