The New York Mets they were a natural suitor of the versatile Kris bryant on the trade deadline before getting the Puerto Rican infielder Javier Baez. According to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, there is still an adjustment there when Bryant enters free agency.
If Baez doesn’t stay in New York, the Mets will need reinforcements in the infield, and Bryant comes with the added benefit of versatility, as he spent more time in the outfield than he did at third base in 2021:
29-year-old Bryant can also cover first base and any field. This season on offense he had numbers of .265 with 25 home runs and 73 RBIs between the San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs.
