MLB: Tony La Russa said where he wants to see Albert Pujols

The manager of the Chicago White Sox, Tony La RussaHe said he wants to see the Dominican Albert pujols back to the Cardinals from San Luis in the early 2022.

It is no secret to anyone that Albert pujols He will be a free agent at the end of this MLB season; not sure if he will play, if he will sign with the Dodgers or if he will return to the Cardinals.

However, players and coaches from his old background want to see him back at the San Luis Cardinals to close that brilliant career of the MLB.

“I hope he returns next year and I hope he returns as a Cardinal” said La Russa.

When Pujols was released by the Anaheim Angels, Tony La Russa lamented that the Chicago White Sox did not have room to sign him, so much so that he said he discussed it with the general manager and there was nothing that brought them together.

For a former prominent member of the Cardinals organization, hopefully this won’t be the last time Pujols plays at Busch Stadium. In fact, he doesn’t want Pujols to retire before putting on the uniforms he started his career in again.

According to Scott Merkin of MLB.com, White Sox captain Tony La Russa, who spent many years training Pujols with the Cardinals, wants to see the future Hall of Fame slugger return to where he started.

This was a popular hypothesis after the Angels cut ties with Pujols in May, but the Dodgers finally picked it up and liked what they saw as a result.

Since joining the Dodgers, the 41-year-old has 11 home runs in 165 at-bats and has vastly improved his Angels’ .198 / .250 / .372 slash line to a .261 / .303 line. / .479. with the Dodgers. Turns out the Cardinals were never this close to going after Pujols at the time, although they did consider it.
