MLB Suspends White Sox Super SS Tim Anderson; will miss Opening Day

Various media reported that the Major League Baseball (MLB) has issued a suspension to Tim Anderson for the 2022 Season. This means that the considered super shortstop of the Chicago White Sox will miss Opening Day on Thursday, April 7. Anderson was suspended for making contact with an umpire in a 2021 fight against the Detroit Tigers.

Tim Anderson will not be able to be part of the Chicago White Sox star lineup for Opening Day of the 2022 MLB Season. The reason? A suspension given by Major League Baseball.

Various media announced that the shortstop has been suspended for two games in the upcoming season and will have to pay a $10,000 fine, a situation that the player himself confirmed on social media.

Anderson’s suspension is due to the fact that during a dispute between the benches of the White Sox and the Detroit Tigers in 2021 he had contact with an umpire that would be classified as a breach of authority.

Tim Anderson was initially suspended in September 2021. On that occasion he was left out of the Chicago White Sox lineup for three regular MLB games.

Originally from Mérida, Yucatán, my first approach to baseball was at a game of the Leones de Yucatán, in the ‘Kukulcán Álamo’ Park, in 2015; And that changed my life completely. The ‘Melenudos’ are the team I love and the greatest passion I have in this sport. Although I play baseball most of the time, my sport, at first, was (and still is) soccer. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich won my heart and fans from ‘minute one’ and I am fortunate to have already seen them play live. Clearly, I am a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer.
