MLB: Possible landing spots for Trea Turner after expiring her contract at Dodgers

Trea Turner He has been one of the most durable and reliable shortstops in the Big leagues since 2018, putting the 29-year-old in position to be one of the biggest names on the free-agent market this winter. Turner leads another stacked shortstop class, one likely to include Dansby Swanson, Xander Bogaerts and Carlos Correa, the latter two if they opt out of their current deals, as expected.

Since the start of 2018, Turner has played in 651 of a possible 708 games, including 160 in 2022. He has scored 101 runs and had 100 RBIs, though his OPS fell to .809 after hitting .900 over the previous three seasons. Turner won’t be short of suitors, which could result in the second-biggest deal of the offseason, in terms of total value, behind only Aaron Judge. Who could those be? Possible landing spots for Trea Turner after Dodgers contract expires? Here are eight teams that could sign him:

  1. Philadelphia Phillies
  2. Los Angeles Dodgers
  3. Baltimore Orioles
  4. San Francisco Giants
  5. New York Yankees
  6. Atlanta Braves
  7. Boston Red Sox
  8. chicago cubs

If Turner is willing to stay on the West Coast, the Dodgers would certainly make sense after he played the last year and a half in Los Angeles. That said, there’s been a lot of talk about the Dodgers being prepared to let Turner go to make a big play for Judge, a scenario that could potentially sideline the NL West champions at shortstop.

My first months in El Debate were writing articles for the vertical: “My Pocket”, however, in September of the same year I became part of the powerful lineup of “Al Bat”, where I am still working as a web journalist. In “Al Bat”, we truthfully present to our readers the most relevant aspects of the baseball world, mainly from the MLB, winter leagues in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Asian continent. I am a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League and the Boston Red Sox in the American League. My big dream is to get to know the Fenway Park stadium, the historic venue of the “Patirrojos”.
