MLB: Padres to interview former St. Louis Cardinals manager

It is expected that San Diego Padres interview the former manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, Mike Shildt, according to a report by famous journalists Dennis Lin and Britt Ghiroli, from The Athletic newspaper.

The Cardinals parted ways with Shildt last Thursday, citing “philosophical differences” over the direction of the club. Shildt led St. Louis to three consecutive postseason appearances in his three full seasons leading from 2019-21:

The Padres, who were seen as threats to the Dodgers’ dominance at the top of the NL West before the 2021 campaign and were 53-40 in the first half of the season, were 26. -43 the rest of the way.

San Diego fired the manager Jayce Tingler on October 6 because the season was a failure for him and the team, as in 2020 when with a large payroll they only reached the Wild Card Round where they were eliminated precisely by the Cardinals.

I had the chance to attend the 2013 World Classic in Arizona, USA, albeit as a fan. Apart from this beautiful sport, I love basketball, where I have also narrated games and even an NBA friendly 10 years ago, but I carry baseball in my veins. That is how I came to Al Bat, where I have been since 2019 as a web journalist.
