MLB Network will broadcast the ALDS and ALCS in Spanish this year

MLB Network announced today that it will broadcast both the 2022 American League Division Series and the 2022 American League Championship Series exclusively in Spanish this postseason. Both American League Division Series are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 11, with a potential Game 5 on Monday, October 17. The ALCS presented by loanDepot is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, October 19, with a potential Game 7 scheduled for Wednesday, October 26. The broadcasters and commentators for MLB Network’s Spanish-language broadcasts for the SDLA and ALCS will be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are excited about the opportunity to produce Postseason baseball exclusively in Spanish,” said MLB Network President Bill Morningstar. “This great initiative aligns perfectly with Major League Baseball’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand its relationship with Latino baseball and Latino sports fans. We are going to produce these games with the care, passion and quality that our viewers have come to expect from us over the years.”

MLB Network produced exclusively in Spanish an ALDS broadcast from 2016. In addition to airing on MLB Network, the Spanish-language broadcast of the SDLA and SCLA will be available anywhere in the United States live over the Internet to customers of participating pay TV providers through MLBNetwork.com/Watch. TBS will be the exclusive English-language home of the American League Division Series and American League Championship Series in 2022. The Postseason schedule, subject to change, will begin on Friday, October 7 and can be viewed in its entirety at MLB.com/postseason.

In addition to producing the SDLA and ALCS Spanish-language broadcasts, MLB Network will air more than 200 hours of in-studio content this Postseason. The multiple-time Emmy Award-winning MLB Tonight show will air before and after each Postseason game, with reporters contributing from every game of every Postseason series. MLB Network will also provide extensive in-person coverage of the World Series, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 28.
