MLB: Dodgers coach reveals that Albert Pujols gave him a late-model car

The veteran Albert Pujols is a future member of the Hall of Fame, of that there is no doubt: His achievements during his career in MLB they make him one of the best players of all time without discussion; however, those who have known him on a personal level agreeor that the human warmth and the treatment of Pujols towards other people it is even better than his skills as a ballplayer and he knows that better than anyone Dodgers third base coach Dino Ebel.

Ebel has been a great friend of Pujols since they met in 2006, when Pujols was coaching the Angels and Albert was still playing for the Cardinals. When the Dominican signed with the Angels, their friendship only grew stronger over the years, so much so that they met again at the Dodgers last season in 2021.

In fact, their friendship is so great that Ebel himself confessed to David Vassegh’s Dodger Talk podcast that Pujols gave him a surprise he’ll never forget: a late-model Chevrolet Corvette.

I was arriving from a Dodgers game at night, it was almost 12, and it seemed strange to me that my family was in the entrance waiting for me because they never do. My son tells me ‘Dad, the garage door is broken’ and I tell him, well, let’s fix it. Just then I hear a click and the door opens and there’s a Dodgers Blue 2021 Chevrolet Corvette. My wife starts crying and I ask what is this car doing here? She tells me that it is a gift from Albert Pujols and I from ‘Albert Pujols? If I was with him all day and he didn’t say a single word’.

It is an example of how great Pujols is off the field of play, with the fact that the prices go beyond 70 thousand dollars, something that with the contracts that the Dominican has signed, it is easy to pay.

I started as a rookie at Al Bat in early 2018 and am in my third season covering Major League Baseball as a web reporter. I’m a fan of the San Francisco Giants, number one defender of Barry Bonds, and hater of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Ronald Acuña are the future of baseball, Mike Trout is overrated, and the Astros deserved to have the World Series taken from them for their cheating. Besides baseball, I also enjoy football, flag football, basketball, and just about any other game that involves a ball or ball. I’m also an amateur musician, a penniless gamer and very nerdy. Graduated in journalism from the University of Guadalajara, I graduated in 2017. Born in the world capital of shrimp, Escuinapa, Sinaloa. I lived for a while in Australia; I survived giant spiders, tasmanian devils and fought a kangaroo and didn’t die trying.
