MLB: Brewers sign Dominican outfielder Abraham Almonte

Catching up on a minor league signing, the Milwaukee Brewers they signed the gardener Dominican Abraham Almonte with a minor league contract. Almonte will receive an invitation to the Brewers’ Major League Baseball spring training camp.

‘El Varón’ Almonte has played for six different teams in parts of the last nine MLB seasons, hitting .234 / .302 / .374 in 1,326 career at-bats. Now he’ll give the Brewers a depth option heading into Spring Training, and will likely again only be an option for Milwaukee’s active roster in the event of an injury or two. Almonte joins David Dahl and Jonathan Davis as veteran outfield veterans on the Brewers’ field in minor league deals.
