One of the great rookies of this 2022 season has undoubtedly been Atlanta Braves pitcher Spencer Strider who is not only fighting for el National League Rookie of the Year, but also for the Old Circuit Cy Youngconfirming his candidacy by achieving a strikeout mark that only a Hall of Famer had achieved before him.
Then throw a little gem against the Philadelphia Phillies, in which he pitched 6 innings where he allowed only one hit and one earned run, struck out 10 batters to reach 202 in the year, became the fastest pitcher to reach two hundreds of chocolates in a season.
With this, he surpassed the mark of Randy Johnson, who reached 200 K’s in the 2001 campaign in 130.2 innings worked, with Strider doing it in only 130 innings worked, being an all-time record in the history of the Major Leagues.
This 2022, Strider has worked 131.2 total innings, with a 2.67 ERA, an 11-5 record, 202 strikeouts and a batting average against just .180.
