MLB: Atlanta Braves signs young Mexican catcher son of former Red Sox prospect

The receiver from Sinaloa Alen Isauro Pineda is already formally and officially Atlant Braves prospectto. The 17-year-old young man from Mazatlan belongs to the organization that is champion of the World Series, after completing the signing process with the Tribe.

Pineda González was signed by Dominican Raul Gonzalez Hernandez, scout and supervisor of player development from Atlanta at the Braves in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, who closely followed Alen Isauro at the Pacific Academy since 2016, the year he arrived at that institution:

Alen Isauro is a catcher who is 1.80 meters tall and weighs 81 kilos, born on November 4, 2004. He belongs to the LMB Yucatan Lions (since 2020) and in winter (LMP) to Águilas de Mexicali (2021). He can also play first base.

Erick Arellano Hernández, President of Leones and Abraham Valdés, Director of the Pacific Academy, were the hosts of the signing and expressed their respective message for Pineda’s signing, encouraging him to continue giving his best to reach MLB. Hernandez said:

I hope he doesn’t return to Mexico, we always want to see him in the Major Leagues, that he stays there.”

Pineda himself, a graduate of the Muralla League, had his speech with the microphone and attended the round of questions from journalists.

For his part, Raúl González mentioned that Isauro Jr. will soon report to the Braves Academy in the Dominican Republic, where he will debut in the DSL (Dominican Summer League) Rookie Summer League in the Dominican Republic:

Alen is the son of Isauro Pineda Bueso, a former pitcher who belonged to the Boston Red Sox (1998-2002) and the Atlanta Braves (2004). In LMB he played with Sultanes de Monterrey and Leones, while in LMP he played with Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Mayos de Navojoa, Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón, Venados de Mazatlán and Águilas de Mexicali.

In 2008 he was champion with Yaquis and participated in the Caribbean Series. He retired in 2013 with Yucatan. By the way, Isauro Sr. recalled at the press conference that his last year in the US was with the Braves and the manager was Brian Snitker, current Atlanta foreman in MLB:

Total, Alen Isauro will debut as a professional in a matter of months and it will be his second experience in professional training, after last September he did it in Mexicali and said so:

I am a fan of the King of Sports, especially the Boston Red Sox in MLB and all Mexican baseball in general. This profession has given me the opportunity to cover major events such as the Caribbean Series, LMB All Star, LMP (uninterruptedly since 2009), signatures of important players. I had the chance to attend the 2013 World Classic in Arizona, USA, although as a fan. Apart from this beautiful sport, I love basketball, where I have also narrated games and even an NBA friendly 10 years ago, but I have baseball in my veins. Degree in Communication Sciences from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) , from which I graduated in 2011. I was born in Mazatlán, Sinaloa and started in the world of sports journalism in 2004 in the newspaper El Sol de Mazatlán, where I was a baseball columnist and a reporter at the same time. In January 2009 I arrived at El Debate as a journalist reporter and it was almost six years (in the first stage), until in November 2014 I emigrated to the radio providing my services at Línea Directa-Grupo RSN. My cycle there ended in July 2019 and a few days later, El Debate gave me another opportunity to work and opened the doors for me again. That is how I came to Al Bat, where I have been since 2019 as a web journalist.
