Michael Conforto is in negotiations with the Red Sox and Guardians

The Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Guardians have been in negotiations with Scott Boras and his client Michael Conforto ahead of MLB 2022.

The Boston Red Sox they got back outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. who doesn’t seem to be at his best or ready for a full-time role, plus they need a left-handed bat for the lineup and so far they see Michael Comfort as a possible option. Hopefully they’ll be interested in a left-handed hitter after they were interested in Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber before the trade deadline.

While the Cleveland Guardians extended the contract of Emmanuel Clase (P), Jose Ramírez (INF) and Tyler Shaw (OF), now they want a net gardener to join him with other players who project a lot for MLB 2022.

The gardener Michael Comfort turned down a one-year, $18.4 million qualifying offer to return to the New York Mets after a poor season that saw him finish with 14 home runs and a .729 OPS in 125 games, and by now it appears he should have taken that option and try it in free agency for the 2023 season.

Conforto’s agent, Scott Boras, said his client wanted to recover 100% from an injury to his right shoulder before he started negotiating with any teams and then it all went to waste when he got his physical. Conforto entered the offseason as one of the best outfielders available in free agency, yet he has been slower than ever to sign a new deal for reasons given.
