LVBP: Two more champions reported with the Magallanes

The Navigators of the Magellan continue to receive important parts for their “crew” ahead of what will be the start of the 2022/23 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, and this Wednesday they received two additions that will be of the utmost importance for this coming season, especially in what will be the beginning of it.

It is about the versatile infielder Alberto González, and the catcher Arturo Nieto, two pieces that were with the champion team last season, and who had very good performances with the wood and defensively.

“I feel very happy to have achieved that championship after my 17th season, and we are here to repeat the championship”Alberto Gonzalez said. “Tico” had a great year last season, setting a new personal best in terms of batting average, with a .337 line, and 56 hits in 116 at-bats.

Arturo Nieto also reported with the filibusters. Nieto was satisfied with the championship he won last season – his first in Venezuela – and was also enthusiastic about the start of this new season. “Last year’s championship was well deserved, and this year we are going for the same goal”.

Nieto left an offensive line of .288 average in the 2021 regular season, with 12 RBIs and a home run in 59 at-bats. Nieto stood out in the final in the three games he played, achieving four hits in eight at-bats, leaving an average of .500 and with two RBIs.

In addition to Nieto and González, names such as Engelb Vielma, Ivan Andueza, Yorvin Pantoja, José Peralta, Luis Suisbel and Luis León joined players who were already there such as Bruce Rondón, Daniel Mayora, Nivaldo Rodríguez, Erick Leal, Alberth Martínez, Rayder Ascanio, Anthony Vizcaya and Cristian Alvarado.
