LIDOM: These were the picks for the 2021-2022 Reentry Draft

A few days after starting the Round robin that will define the two finalists of the 2021-2022 autumn-winter tournament, the LIDOM and the four teams that will participate in this phase carried out the Reentry Draft with players from Leones del Escogido and Toros del Este, the two teams eliminated during the regular series. Pitching took the night with 17 of the 24 picks.

The order for the first round was determined by the leaderboard in which the regular role ended. The Giants of the Cibao, club with the first choice, selected veteran left-handed pitcher Raúl Valdés, who during the campaign became the 3rd most strikeout pitcher in winter ball history. The pitcher, who just turned 44 years old, finished second in most fans (41) and his ERA was the eighth best in the league (2.85).

Among other outstanding picks from the first rounds is that of Yamaico Navarro for the Eastern Stars, the reliever Jhan Mariñez for the Águilas Cibaeñas, as well as Peter O’Brien for the Tigres del Licey.

Fernando Rodney was selected by the Stars in the sixth round.
