LAST MINUTE: Yasiel Puig was freed from lawsuit and MLB is possible again

By José Alejandro Rodríguez Zas

The Cuban player Yasiel Puig he has just taken an important step towards his soon return to the best baseball in the world, the Major Leagues. As is known, «Caballo Loco» has not played in the majors since September 2019, after spending six seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, between 2013 and 2018, and a seventh (2019) shared between the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Indians .

However, today, Friday, October 29, the news broke that Puig finally resolved his case with the woman identified in court as Jane Roe, but whose name is unknown, with which he would have reached an economic agreement.

Roe accused the Cuban before the court of having abused her during an NBA Lakers game in 2018 and although the Cuban has flatly denied the facts, stating that what happened was by mutual agreement, this matter has become a real impediment for Puig to return to the MLB.

“The fact was consensual and then she proposed to me,” said Puig at the time of being accused by the woman. “We talked about dating later, but she told me she didn’t want her fiancé to find out. We then texted each other and planned to meet again, but never did. Now he is suing me with completely fabricated accusations, “he added.

After several months of fighting in the courts, everything was settled. The prosecutor’s attorney, Vince Finaldi, told the TMZ.com website that the case “has been resolved to the satisfaction of all parties,” an agreement that was confirmed through existing court documents. The player’s lawyers, not even Puig himself, have offered statements.

This decision constitutes, without a doubt, excellent news for Yasiel Puig and his followers, who hope to see “Crazy Horse” in the Big Top soon. At the moment, there are real intentions for him to join the Toros del Este team of the Dominican League LIDOM
