On the morning of this Wednesday, the journalist specialized in baseball, Francys Romero reported in his social networks about the arrival in the United States of the young Antillean prospect Loidel Rodríguez, the second Cuban player to do so, of the 12 who escaped from the Sub Baseball World Cup. -23 held in Mexico.
According to several sources informed the reporter, the receiver from Spiritus would have arrived in the United States last Tuesday, October 5, in the afternoon. Later, the same player confirmed to Romero his arrival in the new country and clarified some questions about his escape from the hotel.
Rodríguez explained in exclusive statements to the journalist that: «I left at 4:35 in the afternoon. I jumped off the second floor of the hotel because of a palm tree and was picked up by a car that was waiting for me there ». In this way, the athlete described how his escape occurred, to try to achieve a better sporting and economic future.
The mask came to the national team as one of the longest-running players in the domestic championship. During the World Cup competition and the Cuban escapes, he became the second Yayabero player to leave the team after Luis Dany Morales started the great exodus and the third in general. On the other hand, he was the second player (that is known) to arrive in the United States. The first was Uber Luis Mejías from Santiago.
In the Cuban elite tournament he accumulated 205 legal visits to the batting box, in which he got 46 hits; distributed in eight doubles, a triple and three homers. Also, he drove in 31 teammates and scored 27 times, leaving an offensive average of .224.
