LAST MINUTE: 3 pitchers sanctioned for prohibited substances in Minor Leagues

By Miguel Guerra

On the afternoon of this Friday, September 23, 2022, the MLB announced new suspensions for violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, this time those involved in this painful sanction were three pitchers, who tested positive in their respective checks.

Stanozolol is an “old school” substance that is easy to detect in a urine test and its use has been common in those athletes looking for “an easier path”, not only in the big leagues but in other sports such as athletics. .

Unfortunately, so far this year several Minor League players have been detected violating the anti-drug program, a fact that has also been present in the big tent.

The most famous case this season was that of superstar Fernando Tatis Jr., who was suspended without pay for 80 games after testing positive for Clostebol.

It is a shame that these cases are repeated, because they tarnish the image of what we consider “the most beautiful sport in the world”, we trust that the MLB improves the processes in the detection of these prohibited substances in favor of a cleaner game.

We want to say thanks to the author of this write-up for this remarkable material
