Katia Reguero and Francisco Lindor join their lives

The sea breeze and the climate of the city of Miami combined with the tropical atmosphere of the beautiful gardens of the Vizcaya Museum provided the perfect setting for Katia Reguero and the star of the New York Mets, Francisco Lindor, they felt like in their beloved Puerto Rico, but with the warmth of their entire family for their wedding.

The couple chose the so-called “City of the Sun” in Florida to ensure that their entire family could arrive safely for an unforgettable marriage.

The celebration lasted for three daysWell, in addition to the wedding, the couple had a welcome dinner and a farewell brunch at the Four Seasons Brickell hotel.

“I fell in love with the museum’s gardens and architecture, influenced by the Italian and Baroque Renaissance. It was straight out of a fairy tale, as I always dreamed of. And better yet It was close enough so that my and Francisco’s relatives could attend without major complications. I wanted to keep the theme elegant and rustic with a tropical touch, as my beloved Puerto Rico continued to be an inspiration ”, explains Reguero, who together with Lindor and her coordinator Brooke Keegan planned the event for about eight months.

The couple got engaged in December 2020 And, since they found the dream place for the wedding and selected the date, another important search began: that of the wedding dress. At the time, Katia resided in Manhattan, where her now husband plays for the Major Leagues.

“I first fell in love with the dress I wore for the reception and the ‘first look’ (a Maison Signore for Kleinfeld), as it was what I had in mind: open back, illusion sleeves, fitted to the figure, with very unique details. I thought I already had my suit on, ”he says. However, Francisco expressed his desire to have another element of surprise when he saw her parade at the ceremony. That is how he kept looking for a new piece for that special moment. “I went on my date with Oscar de la Renta, and I fell in love with the dress I chose for the ceremony. It wasn’t what I was looking for at all, but as soon as I put it on, I knew I was the one, “he adds.

In addition to the now husbands, the celebration had as a co-star their daughter, Kalina Zoé, 1 year old and who paraded hand in hand with his father. There were also the couple’s parents, relatives and closest friends, who “were vital in making our night a dreamy one.”

Francisco’s teammates and former teammates in baseball, such as Gio Urshela, Edwin Díaz, Tomás Nido, Roberto Pérez, Eddie Rosario, Carlos Delgado, Sandy Alomar and Carlos Santana, were among the guests. Katia’s friends traveled from Belgium, Spain, Mexico and the states of Texas, Massachusetts and California.

The musical selection was a very important element for the bride, who is music and recognizes that “I always dreamed of having live music throughout the wedding.” To achieve this, he had the support of the Latin jazz bassist Ramón Vázquez Martirena, who is the father of his violin friend Paola and was in charge of assembling “the bands with the best Puerto Rican musicians selected specifically according to my musical requests.” The selection included entries from Andy Montañez, Juan Vélez, Chad Watkins, Manolito Rodríguez, Yan Carlos Artime, Reinier Guerra, and New York-based Puerto Rican violinist Karla Donehew Pérez.

The boyfriend, with the support of the producer Max Pérez, surprised Katia with an intervention by the Panamanian reggaeton Sech. The urban singer Ozuna could not accompany them on the night of the wedding, but he was with the spouses during the farewell brunch.

Just over a week before the wedding, Katia describes the celebration as “a perfect dream.”
