During his management at the head of the Camagüey campus, Borroto has defended the issue of reinforcements and the transfer of players between provinces, with the theory that a player should be where he feels best. Men like Yordanis Samón from Granma, the Toros’ first baseman, have arrived at the Toros with good results after the call of the experienced coach, although the fans of the team have not always agreed with the movements.

“In this debate, the terrain is the one that will always give the reason or not”, confessed Borroto in an interview granted to the Adelante Newspaper, a local media outlet, prior to the start of Series 61. «If you look, I have not brought any player from another province on a whim. However, despite his preference on the issue of transfers, the helmsman of the Toros de Camagüey considers that there must be an orderly system or process to carry out the changes of players from one team to another.

“In the future we should think about carrying out a draft to organize this type of transfers, so I could exchange a first baseman for a second baseman from Matanzas or a catcher for a pitcher from Pinar del Río and each one would have the opportunity to play more in teams with shortcomings in those positions”, explained Borroto.
