“Felipón”, another son of Felipe, manager at Lidom

Another member of the Rojas Alou lineage has taken firm steps with a view to continuing the legacy of the so-called “Royal Family” of baseball in the Dominican Republic.

This is Felipe Rojas Jr., who currently led the Leones del Escogido for 8 games (until last night) on an interim basis and is the son of legend Felipe Rojas Alou.

Rojas covered the absence of manager Rodney Linares, who was affected by Covid 19.

Felipe’s son has been working for the Lions since the 2009-2010 season, working mainly as a prelude and initial coach and defined the opportunity to direct the long-haired players on an interim basis, as very productive since he knows more closely about situations that they present themselves daily with the players. “Coaching Albert Pujols has been one of the greatest things that has happened to my career,” stressed the young coach.

Currently, he is the director of the academy of said organization in the Dominican Republic. Baltimore recently announced plans to build a 22.5-acre baseball complex that will be the home of nationwide talent development operations.

His family
He is a family man, which he described as a blessing. “I have had the support of my wife Emilia Villar De Rojas, who has been with me in many moments of my career and has been a support for me. I currently have four children, including a teenager and a 19-year-old who resides in the United States, an eight-year-old and a small baby, ”said Rojas.

He has always had a passion for basketball and it is something that his family carries in their blood. In his high school years at the San Gabriel school, he participated in intercollegiate tournaments and according to his classmates and opponents of that sport, he was a tremendous player.
