Not by expected, it ceases to surprise us. Every day there is a new news in this sense that generates a new headline. Cuban baseball, or rather, the ball that is played inside Cuba, continues to bleed out, for more than known causes.
We live in 2021 and it is another generation. There are no longer the historical ones who slept in the Latin American in shelters and bathed in cold water with low ambient temperatures, traveled in uncomfortable buses or ate whatever, threw 130 pitches twice a week and soiled their uniform daily on the ground , with the conviction of a duty that they had to fulfill, by commitment to who knows what paradigm or person.
They are other times. The human being seeks freedom, prosperity, personal development and for his family. Seek justice. That their quality be recognized in any sphere of life, both morally and economically. May the will of a few not define your destiny.

In the last days and months, a rosary of athletes from different sports have decided to escape from Cuba looking for a future outside the Island and others have requested their withdrawal from the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB) to start their journey. Some may not even get to practice the sport in which they excel, but the simple fact of breathing airs of freedom is enough incentive to continue fighting.
Mainly in baseball, many are the young prospects who have left Cuba. Since the 12 who escaped from the Cuba team to the U23 World Cup in Mexico to those who have gradually added to that already infinite list, are going to continue marching in a parade that already seems to get out of control.
This morning, October 20, the Cuban sports journalist Francys Romero public on his Twitter profile that the young 21-year-old Cuban prospect, Darling Jiménez, an infielder from Granma, will request his withdrawal from Cuban baseball, according to the player’s personal communication.
Darling was excluded from the roster of the Cuba team to the U23 World Cup held in Mexico a few weeks ago, just hours before traveling to Aztec lands and yesterday his services were also dispensed with in the preselection that is preparing for the I Junior Pan American Games in Cali-Valle 2021, for not showing up to the concentrate, in both cases, under the direction of the former receiver from Spiritus Eriel Sánchez.

Darling He made his debut in the last 60th edition of the National Series and left interesting numbers with the Alazanes de Granma. He hit .319 (72-23) with six doubles and two triples, 16 runs scored and five RBIs, and a very good offensive line of .402 / .458 / .860.
However, although this news seemed totally true and with more than substantiated arguments, minutes after its publication, Francys clarified on her Twitter profile that something very strange was happening.
“I just learned that a person close to Jiménez impersonated his identity to communicate with me and offer such information,” Francys clarified. “The player, in another way, assures me that he WILL NOT LEAVE the Granma team and PLAY the next National Series,” added the journalist, who apologized to his followers for the strange situation.
