The Caribbean Series 2022 is getting closer and closer on the calendar and everyone wants to be part of it. Or well, such is the case of the ex-Boston Red Sox Sandy Leon. The veteran and also ex-MLB recently declared that he has all the desire to be able attend Santo Domingo to represent the Colombian National Team, country in which it is disputing the winter league.
Sandy León does not want to stop playing winter ball and among his plans is to attend the Santo Domingo 2022 Caribbean Series, representing the Colombian National Team despite being Venezuelan.
The former Boston Red Sox recently declared that if given the opportunity he will do it, since “he has been wanting to since last year”, being that at both times he will play in the Colombian Professional Baseball League.
The native of Maracaibo, Venezuela is playing the 2021-2022 Season of the Colombian Professional Baseball League with the Caimanes de Barranquilla, the ninth that managed to reach the Final.
Sandy León was part of the Boston Red Sox for five years, one of them having been in 2018, the season in which they managed to win the MLB World Series title against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
