Dodgers: Is the love over? Albert Pujols has hardly played and batted lately

The Los Angeles Dodgers are undoubtedly an overwhelming team of talent that although they are everyone’s favorites to repeat the championship World Series in 2021, They have not been free of problems on their roster such as low game, injuries, changes, among other circumstances, so they have had to modify on the go in such a long season as MLB is.

One of those modifications was the acquisition of Albert Pujols in free agency after being released by the Angels in May, who initially responded to critics with good performances against injuries, but as the season progressed, he began to be relegated to. a supporting role with the Dodgers and since mid-August, he hasn’t seen much action time and hasn’t responded well with the wood.

Since hitting his 677th career home run on Aug. 21, Pujols has seen action in 9 games with 15 total plate appearances, hitting just two hits with 5 strikeouts, a walk and an RBI in that span, without playing a full game in that span, his last being on Aug. 6, when he completed 10 innings in the Dodgers’ extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.

In total this season with the Dodgers, Pujols (who is the oldest active player in all of the majors) is hitting .258 with 10 homers and 33 RBIs, with an OPS of .763.

I started as a rookie on Al Bat in early 2018 and I am going into my third season covering Major League Baseball as a web reporter. I am a fan of the San Francisco Giants, a number one defender of Barry Bonds and a critic of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto and Ronald Acuña are the future of baseball, Mike Trout is overrated, and the Astros deserved to be taken away from the World Series for cheating. Besides baseball, I also enjoy soccer, football, basketball, and just about any other game that includes a ball or a ball. I am also an amateur musician, penniless gamer and very nerdy. Graduated in journalism from the University of Guadalajara, I graduated in 2017. Born in the shrimp capital of the world, Escuinapa, Sinaloa. I lived in Australia for a while; i survived giant spiders, tasmanian devils and fought a kangaroo and didn’t die trying.
