Cuban pitcher EXPELLED for going to church celebrated his BAPTISM

On June 8, it was news that the left-handed pitcher from Agramon, Dariel Góngora, who in April had requested his reinstatement to the Camagüey Bulls as a whole, had been separated from the Agramontine preselection for disciplinary reasons.

Mario Nuñez Caballero, Provincial Director of INDER in the province, at that time made the following statements “He has had inappropriate reactions with coaches and baseball managers in the province, so we consider that he does not meet the requirements to be part of the preselection.”

After the decision, a day later, Góngora, the best left-hander in Series 58, the year in which he was proclaimed champion with the Leñadores de Las Tunas, published his version of the events on his Facebook profile and through a direct one, he made it clear that he had not committed any indiscipline and that the true cause of his separation from the team was that he had taken faith and that he had started in the church of the Apostle Bernardo de Quesada, who was booked as a counterrevolutionary by State Security.

Four months later, Dariel Góngora is back in the news on Social Networks through a user post AlexYare Alvarez in which he publishes photos of the Agramontino pitcher while celebrating his baptism surrounded by his family and friends. The post in question is accompanied by the following text:

“Today was the Christening of Camagüey Pitcher Dariel Góngora. Many blessings my brother continues in the ways of God. The top management in Camagüey does not want him to go to the church of the Apostle Bernardo de Quesada and that is why Cousín did not take him to Cuba but there is a God up there and you my warriors will be rewarded, may My God bless you and your CHURCH.”

As you can read in the post, the author refers to the case of Yosimar Cousín, who for no real reason was left out of all the national preselections this year, including the U23 World Cup, despite the fact that Cousín was one of the protagonists of the classification in 2020. The young right from Camagüey, according to Alex Álvarez, also belongs to the same church and that would be the reason why Cousín was not taken into account for any international event.

Once again, the disinformation and secrecy, intrinsic characteristics of the different directions on the Island, both sports and of all kinds, leaves many doors open to the formulation of hypotheses and versions of events that may or may not be true, but that always leave a blanket of doubt about the people who run baseball in our country.

In the same way, the Complete Swing collective will always be in favor of freedom and among all individual freedoms, one of the most important is freedom of faith and religion and no government should interfere or judge a person for belonging to such or more like church and much less than that constitutes a cause to be excluded from a baseball team. That’s all for now, we’ll see you next time.
