The Los Angeles Dodgers They seemed poised to be the team that would finally bid for back-to-back World Series titles, now they have another series and it’s like signing Corey Seager to MLB.
Now comes the hard part. With several of his key players ready to test free agency, it will be a challenge to see who they can lock up and who they have to let go. Corey Seager, the Dodgers’ full-time shortstop for the past half decade, spoke about whether he still sees his future in Dodgers blue.
“Yes, absolutely,” Seager said. “I grew up here. I spent a lot of time here. I believe in what these guys do. I believe in how we do it. Absolutely.”

The Dodgers wore the role before the season began. Their chances seemed better than ever when they added Max Scherzer and Trea Turner through a midseason trade.
And after knocking out the San Francisco Giants, the only team with a better record than them during the regular season, it seemed like a World Series appearance was on the line. But alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
But while the conviction is undoubtedly genuine from Corey Seager, turning pen to paper is an entirely different matter. Aside from Seager, the Dodgers also have to deal with the future of Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen, Max Scherzer and Chris Taylor, among others.
The checks would have been a lot easier to cut with another championship, that’s for sure. But if the Los Angeles Dodgers hope to return to the top of the MLB once again, they need to continue to show their financial muscles for the players who deserve it.
