Caimanes de Barranquilla debuted with victory in the 2022 Caribbean Series

The maximum champion of the Colombian Professional Baseball League, Barranquilla Caimans, debuted with victory this Friday, January 28, in the first game of the 2022 Caribbean Series.

The Ninth Atlantic took a victory 6 runs to 1 against Navegantes del Magallanes from Venezuela in the stadium Quisqueya Juan Marichalfrom Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Caimanes, who until a week ago were celebrating their twelfth title in the Colombian record after beating Cowboys de Montería in the grand final, He won a place in this international competition and began by measuring himself against the Venezuelan baseball champion, who has just celebrated his 13th title in history.

Directed by manager José Mosquera, the Colombians started their respective game concentrated against Navegantes and in just three innings they were already 4-0 up on the scoreboard after a ‘hit’ that caused two runs for the Atlanticenses.

Caimanes did not slow down in his onslaught in attack and scored another two runs in the last innings of the match, while the Venezuelans got just one run to seal the final 6-1.

It should be remembered that six baseball teams arrive at the Caribbean Series, including franchises from Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela, Panama Y Colombia. This is how they face each other to leave the best four teams that will eventually go on to define the continental title.

The Colombian baseball representative will play again this Saturday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m. and they will do so facing Astronautas de Los Santos de Panamá, who also started this competition with victory in their favor.
