A surprise option has arisen for the Houston Astros shortstop if Carlos Correa is not returned to the team.
And it is that Alex Bregman spoke with Michael Schwab on his podcast and told him that if the Astros need him, he will play at shortstop.
He also noted that he could play at an All-Star level at shortstop and has braced himself during the offseason for responsibility.
Houston Astros not sounding out Bregman’s option
Team manager James Click ruled out this option a few days ago despite Alex Bregman’s offer, so it’s not ruled out entirely.
The current 3B of the Astros also stressed that he prefers the return of Carlos Correa. “If they bring No. 1 back, I’ll love it,” Bregman said.
