Many ancient customs and manners changed in baseball from the MLB as of Season 2021. One of these was the use of prohibited substances by pitchers to improve their monticular work. The new measures implemented by the circuit in response to this made pitchers like Yu Darvish were hit as the Japanese’s numbers worsened since the penalties were announced.
Yu Darvish came to the San Diego Padres for the 2021 MLB Season under the banner that he would be one of the strong cards of the starting rotation, which includes names like Blake Snell and Joe Musgrove.
The Japanese has diminished in his monticular work from the beginning to this point of the campaign and curiously an even greater gap is noted as a result of the Major League announcing that there would be penalties for those who use substances to improve their pitching.
The journalist Danny Vietti was given the task of comparing the effectiveness of the months of the campaign and in June, before the mentioned announcement, he had an ERA of 3.07; and now, in September, it tripled its numbers with an effectiveness of 9.95.
This could be evidence that the ban on substance abuse affected more than one pitcher, who have complained against MLB about this situation, arguing that it also puts their health at risk.
