Albert Pujols despite being the most veteran player in these moments in MLB, still hitting pretty good for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Saturday’s game against the New York Mets, “The Machine” hit the 677th homer of his major league career, reaching 15 this season overall, and thanks to that home run, Pujols was able to reach another historic high in his already award-winning career.
With this home run, Pujols joined Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds and Eddie Murray as the only four players in Major League history to hit at least 15 home runs in 20 different seasons in MLB, further cementing his legacy as one of the most great hitters in all the history of the majors.
Albert Pujols is apparently showing that he still has enough gas in the tank and it is still rumored that he could return for the 2022 season, with his goal in sight being to reach 700 home runs, a mark that only the aforementioned Aaron, Bonds and Babe Ruth have achieved in MLB history.
Pujols is fifth on the all-time home run list and the third Dominican to hit 600 or more home runs alongside Alex Rodriguez and Sammy Sosa.
